Summit Facilities Update!
Last Saturday, during the Mentor-Palooza, the Summit community learned about the change in facilities for the 2013-14 school year. Our first school, Tahoma, would remain in the same location. However, our second school, Rainier, would be relocating to the portables on the campus of Mt. Pleasant, which is about a mile away from our current position. The leaders of the school felt that it was necessary to make this change in order to create a strong, small community in both schools.
In addition to facility changes, there will be changes to the leadership.
Tahoma
Nick Kim - principal
Ms. Hannon - assistant principal
Rainier
Ms. Lamcke - principal
Ms. Pinelli - assistant principal
Mr. Richards will remain as the executive director.
Ms. Miranda will also be involved with both schools.
While many students might miss seeing their friends from the other school, there will still be chances for both schools to come together throughout the year.
How do you feel about the move?
